Attach and Verify a Document

Uploading a file and making its contents available to a model are separate steps. Verify both.

Steps

1. Open the target conversation or project.
2. Add a supported document using the attachment control.
3. Wait for the upload and extraction status to complete.
4. Ask a narrow question whose answer appears in the document.
5. Confirm that the response identifies or cites the attachment and uses information actually contained in it.

What success looks like

The file is accepted, extraction completes, and the response demonstrates access to the document content.

If the model cannot use the file

• Check the file type and size.
• Review extraction status rather than relying only on upload success.
• Confirm that the selected model supports the requested document task.
• Try a short question with one attachment to isolate the problem.
